About Michael Baker

Dr Baker lived in Australia for many years but is now based in Pinner, Middlesex. He has one daughter, of whom he is very proud, who recently graduated in nursing in Glasgow.

Some of Dr Baker's major interests include sustainability, dancing, online civil liberties, skiing and most recently snow boarding.

In 1994 Dr Baker founded Electronic Frontiers Australia. EFA is a non-profit national organisation representing Internet users concerned with on-line freedoms and rights.

From 1986 to 2007 Dr Baker lived on a rural property in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia. His home was a mud brick, passive solar house with its own wind and solar powered electricity system. He has planted thousands of native trees and hundereds of fruit trees.

Dr Baker has had an interest in the environment and sustainability since reading the Club Of Rome report "Limits to Growth" in 1974.

Computers have been a large part of Dr Baker's life since he first used them in a Civil Engineering consultancy also in 1974.
